Review of Linux Compatibility

It is possible to install and test the developer version of Ubuntu Touch on the Nexus 10. Please be warned that this is still an early developer version of the software and that not all functions are implemented yet.

In order to install Ubuntu Touch on the Nexus 10 the system, which is installed by default, has to be replaced. Therefore, the installation of the Ubuntu Touch software is carried out under ones own responsibility and is not supported by the manufacturer of the Nexus 10.

To install Ubuntu Touch on the Nexus 10 on needs the two Zip files ARMHF and Manta.

Both files have to be copied to the internal memory of the Nexus 10. After a reboot of the tablet into the “Custom Recovery” modus files and cache have to be deleted. Afterwards, the two files Manta and ARMHF have to be installed (in this order).

After a restart the Ubuntu Touch surface is shown on the tablet.

A detailed overview of the abilited of Ubuntu Touch can be found at http://www.androidnext.de/schwerpunkt/ubuntu-phone-erster-eindruck-der-entwicklerversion/ (in German).
