Review of Linux Compatibility

The Epson WorkForce WF-3540DTWF is a color All-in-One printer with a maximal resolution of 5760×1440 dpi. The device is fully supported by Linux.

The printer can be accessed per USB (USB ID 04b8:0899), per WiFi, and per Ethernet. If the printer is not recognized by the printer drivers of the Linux distribution, the necessary drivers for scanner and printer can be found at the Epson homepage. It is necessary to search for the device “WF-3540″ in the Linux driver search engine.

The printer is supported by the driver epson-201212w, which can be downloaded from Openprinting.org in RPM or DEB file format.

The scanner of AiO device can be accessed by the program iscan, which is provided by Epson. This software is a simple scanner frontend, which only supports Epson scanners. Alternatively, (and the preferred method) one can use the scanner with SANE, which also fully supports the device. This way, the scanner can be used with the XSane frontend or directly from within Gimp.
