Review of Linux Compatibility

The Mystique SaTiX-S2 Sky PCI is a PCI card to receive DVB-S2 at Linux PCs:

05:00.0 Multimedia video controller: Conexant Systems, Inc. CX23880/1/2/3 PCI Video and Audio Decoder (rev 05)
05:00.2 Multimedia controller: Conexant Systems, Inc. CX23880/1/2/3 PCI Video and Audio Decoder [MPEG Port] (rev 05)

The manufacturer DVBSky provides Linux drivers for the Mystique SaTiX-S2 Sky series at their homepage. Unfortunately, the drivers are not yet part of the Linux standard kernel. The driver can be found at http://www.dvbsky.net/Support.html. Additionally, an installation instruction for the Linux drivers can be found.

In summary, after downloading and unpacking the driver the make file has to be generated for the system that will be used, e.g. for a 32bit Linux system by

./v4l/build_x86.sh

Afterwards, the driver, i.e. the kernel module dvb_usb_dw2102, has to be compiled and instaled by:

make
sudo make install

Furthermore, the firmware file “dvb-fe-ds3000.fw” has to be copied to /lib/firmware.
