Review of Linux Compatibility

The TechnoTrend S2-3200 is a DVB-S2 TV card for the PCI slot. The card is capable to process HDTV signals and is supported since Linux kernel version 2.6.29. E.g. under Ubuntu 12.10 the card is initialized automatically.

An additional Firmware file is needed to use the S2-3200. Furthermore, the Kernel module “budget_ci” also supports the CI slot that is mounted at the backside of the card.

The card can be identified by the following output:

The kernel uses the module saa7146 to access the card. Its initialization is announced in the following way:

saa7146: register extension 'budget_ci dvb'.
budget_ci dvb 0000:01:02.0: PCI INT A -> GSI 23 (level, low) -> IRQ 23
DVB: registering new adapter (TT-Budget S2-3200 PCI)
