The Lenovo H515s is a small (dimensions: D x W x H = 385 x 105 x 305 mm³) desktop PC, which is compatible with Linux, e.g., Ubuntu 12.04 was successfully installed on the system.

Furthermore, the H515s is shipped with a wired keyboard and a wired mouse. The PC can be bought without a Windows license and will be equipped with pre-installed DOS as operating system in this case.
The prozessor is a AMD A6-5200, which is normally used as a laptop processor (25 Watt). The Radeon HD 8400 graphic unti is integrated into the processor and uses some part of the RAM for itself.
In order to be able to boot Ubuntu on the H515s and to install it on the system, the following BIOS settings are needed:
Menu "Security" > Secure Boot: Disabled Menu "Startup" > Primary Boot Sequence: first DVD, second Harddisk > CSM: Enabled > Boot Mode: Legacy Only > Quick Boot: Enabled Menu "Exit" > OS Optimized Defaults: Disabled
If a HDMI monitors is connected to the H515s it can happen that a black frame appears on the monitor, although the fullscreen resolution was used. In this case the screen settings have to be tuned with the “aticonfig” tool. It is necessary to execute the following command (only once needed)
sudo aticonfig --initial
Afterwards, the xrandr program can be used after each boot to set the screen resolution (it is recommended to add this command to a init script or the start script of the desktop environment)
