Review of Linux Compatibility

A perfect card under linux,very good for vhs captures and ultra easy: simply put a cable rca-jack like this


on audio line in of wintv card and a video cable like this


on composite video in of wintv card
Card has mpeg2 on board hw enc(software enc use about 30% of cpu and can cause audio/video sync problems
,with hw enc onboard audio is perfect sync and cpu use is 2% with ffmpeg)
Supported by linux newest kernel (i think 3.0 >)
only have to put firmware v4l-cx2341x-enc.fw in /lib/firmware and reload modules or reboot

And for capture?
Simply do

v4l2-ctl -i 5 (select composite in)
ffmpeg -i /dev/video0 -c:v copy -c:a copy output.mpg
then you can see mpeg2 vhsrip or rencode to avi..
