Review of Linux Compatibility

The Netgear N600 is a USB 2.0 WiFi stick with the model name WNDA3100 (v2) and has the USB ID 0846:9011

Bus 001 Device 003: ID 0846:9011 NetGear, Inc. WNDA3100v2 802.11abgn [Broadcom BCM4323]

There are currently no Linux kernel drivers available for this WiFi stick. However, it is possible to use the windows drivers of the WNDA3100 in Linux together with Ndiswrapper. In this case it is necessary to use the correct version of the Windows drivers, i.e. 32bit or 64bit corresponding to the used Linux distribution. Advanced Linux knowledge is necessary for the The Ndiswrapper configuration. The configuration steps are described at http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1964173.

Actually there are 3 hardware versions of this adapter:
    WNDA3100v1 – Atheros AR91xx works on Linux.
WNDA3100v2 – Broadcom. Maybe works with ndiswrapper
WNDA3100v3 – Mediatek. Apparently ndiswrapper doesn’t work with this one either.
