Review of Linux Compatibility

The HP LaserJet Professional P1102 is fully supported by Linux. It can be used with the OpenSource driver for the ZjStream protocoll (http://foo2zjs.rkkda.com/) as well as with the HPLIP Driver. At least version 3.10.04 of the HPLIP driver is necessary (e.g. already included in Ubuntu 12.10).

The printer can be configured by the HP own setup program:

sudo hp-setup -i

Alternatively, on can install the f002zjs driver in Ubuntu by the command:

sudo apt-get install foo2zjs

The printer has the USB ID 03f0:002a and is automatically recognized if plugged in:

usb 6-1: new high-speed USB device number 22 using ehci_hcd
usb 6-1: New USB device found, idVendor=03f0, idProduct=002a
usb 6-1: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3
usb 6-1: Product: HP LaserJet Professional P1102
