Review of Linux Compatibility

The DVB-S2 PCI-Express card Cine S2 V6 from Digital Devices is supported by Linux since kernel 3.1. The card has the PCI ID dd01:0003 and is recognized by Linux as “Multimedia controller”, and therefore can easily be missed in the output of lspci:

02:00.0 Multimedia controller: Device dd01:0003

The card uses the kernel module ddbridge and is initialized by the kernel in the following way :

DDBridge 0000:04:00.0: PCI INT A -> GSI 16 (level, low) -> IRQ 16
DDBridge driver detected: Digital Devices Cine S2 V6 DVB adapter
DVB: registering new adapter (DDBridge)
DVB: registering new adapter (DDBridge)

If the kernel modules ddbridge and dvb_core have been loaded the two DVB-S2 tuners of the cards are available. The following additional devices are available at the Linux system:

/dev/ddbridge/card0
/dev/dvb/adapter0
/dev/dvb/adapter1
