Examen de compatibilité avec Linux
The Edimax EW-7711USn is a WiFi USB adapter for wireless connection according to IEEE 802.11n standard. The USB stick bases on the Ralink RT3070 chipset and is fully and automatically supported under Linux (e.g., since Linux Mint 13 ‘Maya’). The modul rt2800usb is used by the kernel as driver.
If the EW-7711USn is not automatically supported by the used Linux distribution, a Linux driver can be downloaded from Edimax and has to be compiled by hand. One has to deactivate the kernel module rt2800usb in order to use the RT3070 driver from Edimax:
sudo su echo "blacklist rt2800usb" >> /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf exit
This prevents the automatic loading of the rt2800usb kernel module during the booting of the Linux system.
