Review of Linux Compatibility

The Silex SX-DS-3000U1 is a USB device server, which allwos to control over the network USB devices which are connected to it. Virtual USB ports are created on the client PC, which are routed over the network to the device server. The Silex SX-DS-3000U1 has a 100MBit Ethernet connection and on USB port.

However, no software to create the virtual USB devices under a Linux system is available for the Silex SX-DS-3000U1. Therefore, the device server can not be used under Linux.

At least it can be used as a printer server because printer which is connected to the device server via USB is possible. For printing the network protocols LPR, RAW and IPP are supported.
