Review of Linux Compatibility
The HP Laserjet Pro M1132 is a All-in-One device with integrated laser printer, that has a maximal resolution of 600×600 dpi. This Laserjet is connected per USB and has the USB ID 03f0:042a:
Hewlett Bus 001 Device 002: ID 03f0:042a Hewlett-Packard
The printer and the scanner are fully supported by Linux. The printer is supported by the OpenSource driver foo2xqx, which uses the XQX Stream Protocol, but can as well be used with the HP driver HPLIP. The minimal version of the HPLIP driver is 3.10.4 to fully support the printer.
In Ubuntu (e.g.. 12.04) the package hplip is already included. Alternatively, the driver can be downloaded at:
http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/models/laserjet/hp_laserjet_professional_m1132_mfp.html. In this case the driver has to be installed after downloading it (after unpacking it. root access will be necessary for the installation):
In Ubuntu the installation can be performed with the package management system and the configuration can be carried out by the command:
During the setup proprietary binary files will be downloaded from the internet. Therefore, an internet connection is necessary to successfully setup the driver.
