Review of Linux Compatibility

The Sapphire AMD Radeon HD 6850 was successfully tested under Debian GNU/Linux 8.6 (jessie) with Linux kernel version 3.16.0-4-amd64 and an X-Server of version X.Org X Server 1.16.4. The card can be identified by the following PCI IDs:

01:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Barts PRO [Radeon HD 6850] [1002:6739]
Subsystem: PC Partner Limited / Sapphire Technology Device [174b:174b]
	Kernel driver in use: radeon
01:00.1 Audio device [0403]: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Barts HDMI Audio [Radeon HD 6800 Series] [1002:aa88]
Subsystem: PC Partner Limited / Sapphire Technology Device [174b:aa88]
	Kernel driver in use: snd_hda_intel

The Sapphire Radeon HD 6850 works good with Linux. Proprietary drivers as well as open source radeon drivers can be used. Both can run complex games like Dota 2. However, there were rare issues with the free drivers. Graphics hang up when loading a menu in Dota 2, and restart of system was needed.
