Review of Linux Compatibility

The Canon LiDE 120 is a USB scanner with USB ID 04a9:190e

Bus 001 Device 004: ID 04a9:190e Canon, Inc.

Although the scanner is recognized by the kernel the following way:

usb 1-3: new high-speed USB device number 4 using ehci-pci
usb 1-3: New USB device found, idVendor=04a9, idProduct=190e
usb 1-3: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=0
usb 1-3: Product: CanoScan
usb 1-3: Manufacturer: Canon

it is not supported by the SANE backend (see http://www.sane-project.org/lists/sane-mfgs-cvs.html). It is therefore not recommended to use this scanner under Linux.

Will show up with sane-find-scanner, but will not work with any scan application; will not show up under scanimage -L.
