Review of Linux Compatibility

The HP Deskjet 1512 is an All-in-One printer with USB ID 03f0:c111

Printer and scanner can be accessed under Linux with the HP Linux Imaging and Printing driver, which fully supports the Deskjet 1512 since version 3.13.8. The driver supports Ubuntu since 10.04, Debian since 6.0 or SuSE Linux since 12.02.

Under Ubuntu the hplip driver can be installed by the command

sudo apt-get install hplip

If one additionally wants to use a graphical user interface, the package hplip-gui needs to be installed:

sudo apt-get install hplip-gui

The All-in-One printer is then automatically recognized and fully supported by the Linux kernel:
