Review of Linux Compatibility

The Logitech Alter 700n is a security camera with night vision which runs Linux. The camera provides HD pictures with a resolution of up to 960 x 720 pixel at 15 fps. The source code of the adapted Linux system which runs on the camera can be found at the Logitech OpenSource web site.

The 700n can be accessed under Linux by the iAlert software. This software needs the following packages pre-installed under Ubuntu:

The iAlert source code can be downloaded via git:

cd ~ && git clone git://github.com/szatmary/iAlert.git

and afterwards is compiled by:

cd ~/iAlert && qmake iAlert.pro && make

The compiled program can then be started by the command

The program stores the recordings of the security camera in the folder ~/Video/iAlert .
