Review of Linux Compatibility

The Epson Perfection V33 (product ID B11B200201) is a photo scanner with 4800 x 9600 dpi resolution. It has the USB ID 04b8:0142 and is fully supported by the SANE scanner drivers. Furthermore, drivers are provided at the Epson homepage for download.

For Debian based Linux distributions the files

iscan-data_1.28.0-2_all.deb
iscan_2.29.3-1~usb0.1.ltdl7_amd64.deb
esci-interpreter-perfection-v330_0.2.0-1_amd64.deb

should be downloaded from the Epson homepage. After downloading these files, xsltproc needs to be installed

sudo apt-get install xsltproc

and the downloaded iscan packages can be installed:

dpkg -i iscan-data_1.28.0-2_all.deb
dpkg -i iscan_2.29.3-1~usb0.1.ltdl7_amd64.deb
dpkg -i esci-interpreter-perfection-v330_0.2.0-1_amd64.deb
