Review of Linux Compatibility

The Crucial MX100 512GB is an internal 2.5 inch SATA3 solid state disk. The drive has been successfully used under Linux Mint 17 KDE. It worked out of the box under Linux, and has a good performance and excellent price.

Following performance was found during testing:

dd if=/dev/zero of=tempfile bs=1M count=1024 conv=fdatasync,notrunc

showed an average write speed of 475 MB/s.

Clearing of cache by

sudo sh -c "sync&& echo 3 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches"

and afterwards

dd if=tempfile of=/dev/null bs=1M count=1024

showed an average read speed of 455 MB/s.
