Review of Linux Compatibility

The HP Envy 5530 is a All-in-One device, which can be accessed via USB and WiFi. The Printer and the integrated scanner are fully supported under Linux by the hplip driver since version 3.13.6 of the driver.

Under Ubuntu the driver can be installed by

sudo apt-get install hplip hplip-gui

Under other distributions it is also possible to download the driver from Sourceforge:

wget -c wget http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/hplip/hplip-3.13.9.run
sudo chmod +x hplip-3.13.9.run
./hplip-3.13.9.run

Alternatively, the scanner can be used under Linux withthe commercial drivers from VueScan.
