Review of Linux Compatibility
The LG GH22NS is an internal 22x DVD writer, which supports DVD±RW, DVD±R DL and DVD-RAM media. The drive is automatically recognized under Linux

and is fully supported. The GH22NS shows the following propoerties:

The drive sometimes is not autmatically recognized in combination with some mainboards and the pata_acpi kernel module of Linux kernel version 3.6. In this case additional kernel options have to be added for the booting of thy kernel.
