Review of Linux Compatibility
The Linksys WUSB54GC (do not mix up with the Speedboost version WUSB54GSC) is a WiFi USB stick, which allows wireless connections according to IEEE 802.11g.
The WUSB54GVexists in three versions, each one using a differen chipset and hence differen drivers, i.e. kernel modules.
Linksys WUSB54GC v1 (13b1:0020)
This version of the WUSB54GC has a silver housing and bases on the Ralink RT73 chipset. The stick is identified as

This version of the WUSB54GC bases on the RTL8187B chipset and is shown by the Kernel in the following way:

This version has a black housing and uses the USB ID 1737:0077
