The Qnap TS-421 is a 4 bay NAS server, which can be equipped with up to 4 TB SATA I/II HDD per bay. The Server has a

Qnap provides a Linux based firmware for the TS-421, which supports HDDs with EXT3, EXT4 journaling filesystems. Furthermore, Qnap provides a bunch of software packages that can enhance the abilites of the system (Web server, mail server, SQL server, installation of Content Management Systems (Joomla, WordPress), and much more). Linux compatibility is provided due to the support of several (open) protocols for data exchange: CIFS/SMB, AFP (v3.3), NFS (v3), FTP, FTPS, SFTP, TFTP, HTTP(S), Telnet, SSH, iSCSI, SNMP, SMTP, SMSC, TFTP.
