Review of Linux Compatibility

The Samsung N150 comes with a very good Linux compatibility. The Netbook was tested with a Debian system of kernel version

Display

To be able to control the Displays brightness the option “acpi_backlight=vendor” needs to be added to Grub:

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="nosplash acpi_backlight=vendor"

The updated configuration gets activated with the following command:

update-grub

Samsung Tools

It is recommended to install the Linux Samsung tools to activate all function keys of the N150. These tools can be downloaded from the following web address: https://launchpad.net/samsung-tools, and are installed by:

make install
