Review of Linux Compatibility

The Logitech M525 is automatically supported under Linux (e.g., under Ubuntu 12.04) and uses the Logitech Uniying Receiver for its wireless connection.

It is recommended to use the program Solaar if several Logitech wireless devices are used in parallel with one Logitech Unifying Receiver. The program allows to manage several connected Logitech devices and also shows the charge level. The program can be added to the Ubuntu package managemet and gets installed by:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:daniel.pavel/solaar
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install solaar

I’ve been using this great little mouse for nearly three years. The original batteries lasted just over two years of daily use … incredible, really incredible! Highly recommend this mouse.
