As specialty the scroll wheel of the M325 can be tilted horizontally and for example can be used to browse back and forth in the web browser per default.

If this special function of the scroll wheel should be used for horizontal scrolling instead, the buttons 6+7 have to be switched with 8+9. This can be performed by

xmodmap -e "pointer = 1 2 3 4 5 8 9 6 7 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24"

Solaar

It is recommended to use the program Solaar if several Logitech wireless devices are used in parallel with one Logitech Unifying Receiver. The program allows to manage several connected Logitech devices and also shows the charge level. The program can be added to the Ubuntu package managemet and gets installed by:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:daniel.pavel/solaar
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install solaar
