Review of Linux Compatibility

The Delock 82001 is a adapter which is connected to the USB port and provides a Centronics parallel port connection. The adapter bases on the CH340S chipset from WinChipHead Corp.

Although the adapter is recognized by the Linux kernel and the device file /dev/usb/lp0 is created automatically, it is not possible to print over the adapter. Instead, the error message

error -71 reading printer status

will be produced and no printing will be achieved.
