Review of Linux Compatibility
The Asus PCE-AC66 is a PCI Express card which supports WiFi standard 802.11ac with transmission rates of up to 1300 Mbits. The cardhas the PCI ID 14e4:43a0
82:00.0 Network controller : Broadcom Corporation Device [14e4:43a0] (rev 02)
and bases on the Broadcom BCM4360 chipset.
The card is currently not supported by the Linux standard kernel but can be used with the Linux driver package provided by Broadcom.
Under Ubuntu 13.04 this driver can be installed by the bcmwl-kernel-source package. The installation is initiated by:
sudo apt-get install bcmwl-kernel-source
At least version 184.108.40.206+bdcom-0ubuntu3 should be used to support the card. The version can be found out by the command:
sudo dpkg -s bcmwl-kernel-source >> Version: 220.127.116.11+bdcom-0ubuntu3
The driver (i.e. the kernel module wl) is loaded by
sudo modprobe wl
