Review of Linux Compatibility

The Belkin F7D1101 (v1) is a USB WiFi Adapter with the USB ID 050D:945A

Bus 001 Device 008: ID 050d:945a Belkin Components F7D1101 v1 Basic Wireless Adapter [Realtek RTL8188SU]

The stick bases on the Realtek RTL8188SU chipset and is supported by the rtl819x drivers, i.e. r8192s_usb. The stick works automatically on latest Linux kernels (e.g. Linux kernel version 3.9.5, Fedora 19) but might need the installation of additional Firmware, if not already included in the distribution. In this case the Firmware rtl8192sfw.bin has to be downloaded and needs to be copied to /lib/firmware/.

The stick was also used succesfully with the kernel module rtl8712u and the firmware rtl8712u.bin:
