Review of Linux Compatibility
The Draytek miniVigor 128 is a USB ISDN adapter. Several different hardware versions of this adapter are distributed under the same name. Unfortunately, only one of these versions uses HFC-S chipset and is supported under Linux (e.g. Ubuntu 11.10). The housing of all versions is identical, only the USB ID helps to distinguis the version. The Linux comaptivle one has the ID 0675:1688:
Bus 004 Device 004: ID 0675:1688 Draytech miniVigor 128 ISDN TA
The other versions base on a WinBond chipset, which is not supported under Linux. These incompatible versions have the USB IDs 0675:0110 or 0675:6694.
After plugging in the version 0675:1688 the ISDN adapter is automatically recognized by the kernel:
usb 2-2: New USB device found, idVendor=0675, idProduct=1688 usb 2-2: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=1, SerialNumber=1 usb 2-2: Product: USB ISDN TA usb 2-2: Manufacturer: USB ISDN TA usb 2-2: SerialNumber: USB ISDN TA ... isdn: Setting up ISDN card contr0 Draytech miniVigor 128 ISDN TA..done
Afterwards the ISDN driver has to be configured, which can be quite cumbersome depending on the used distribution. For Ubuntu such configuration is described at http://itsacleanmachine.blogspot.de/2013/04/isdn-adventures.html (in german).
