Review of Linux Compatibility

The Cyborg R.A.T. 7 from Saitek is a Gaming Mouse with the USB ID 06a3:0ccb:

Bus 002 Device 015: ID 06a3:0ccb Saitek PLC

The mouse is supported by Linux but needs additional configuration steps. In the file “/etc/X11/xorg.conf” the following entry has to be added (alternatively the configuration can also be stored in a separate file, e.g. in “/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-cyborgrat7.conf”:

Section "InputClass"
        Identifier "R.A.T."
        MatchProduct "R.A.T.7|R.A.T.9"
        MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/event*"
        Option "Buttons” “17"
        Option "ButtonMapping" "1 2 3 4 5 0 0 8 9 7 6 12 0 0 0 16 17"
        Option "AutoReleaseButtons" "13 14 15"
        Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5 6 7"
EndSection

Afterwards the X-Server has to be restarted.
