Review of Linux Compatibility

The OKI MB260 is a All-in-One laser printer that is fully compatible with Linux. The printer has the USB ID 06bc:01d5:

Bus 007 Device 002: ID 06bc:01d5 Oki Data Corp.

The printer gets shipped with a CD including Linux drivers. The included drivers can be used for Debian, Ubuntu, Red Hat, Suse, and Fedora.

The printer and scanner software can also be downloaded from the OKI homepage. The driver for the MB260 is identical to the one for the MB200.

After unpacking of the file three folders will be created, each one containing a setup program, two for the printer, one for the scanner. All setup programs have to be executed. Afterwards, CUPS can be configured under http://localhost:631/. There, the OKI printer has to be added (eventually the printer can be found under the name “Laser Pro LL2 PCl”).
