Review of Linux Compatibility

The Epson WorkForce GT-1500 (model identification B11B190011) is a USB scanner with the maximal resolution of 1200dpi and the USB ID 04b8:0133

Bus 002 Device 003: ID 04b8:0133 Seiko Epson Corp.

The scanner is fully supported by Linux and can also be used together with SANE. To access the Epson WorkForce GT-1500 under Linux the corresponding Linux scanner driver has to be downloaded from the Epson homepage. These files install the scan program iScan, and also include the plugin file iscan-plugin-gt-1500, which enables the use of the scanner together with SANE, the XSANE GUI and the command line.

After installing the driver the GT-1500 will be identified by the system in the following way:

found USB scanner (vendor=0x04b8 [EPSON], product=0x0133 [EPSON Scanner]) at libusb:002:003

Alternatively, the GT-1500 can be accessed under Linux by the commercially available Linux drivers from Vuescan.
