The Netgear N600 is a USB 2.0 WiFi stick with the model name WNDA3100. The Stick is available in three different version, each one having a different USB ID
WNDA3100v1 – USB ID 0846:9010
The version v1 of the WNDA3100 uses an Atheros AR9170 chipset and has the USB ID 0846:9010:
Bus 1 Device 14: ID 0846:9010 NetGear, Inc.
This version of the stick is automatically supported by the Linux kernel since kernel version 2.6.30.

There are currently no Linux kernel drivers available for this WiFi stick. However, it is possible to use the windows drivers of the WNDA3100 in Linux together with Ndiswrapper. In this case it is necessary to use the correct version of the Windows drivers, i.e. 32bit or 64bit corresponding to the used Linux distribution. Advanced Linux knowledge is necessary for the The Ndiswrapper configuration. The configuration steps are described at http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1964173.
