Review of Linux Compatibility

The Elgato EyeTV DTT Deluxe v2 USB stick is equipped with a DVB-T tunerand has a very compact size, i.e. 3,5 cm x 1,6 cm x 0,8 cm. The version v2 of the EyeTV DDT Deluxe can be recognized by its different size because the predecessor hat a different size, i.e. 5,7 cm x 1,7 cm x 0,9 cm, USB ID 0fd9:0020.

The Elgato EyeTV DDT Deluxe v2 has the USB ID 0fd9:002c:

and needs a firmware file to function under Linux. This file often is already part of the Linux distribution. If not, it can be found at the following URL and has to be copied to /usr/lib/firmware/

To use the stick the linuxtv-dvb-apps have to be installied with a minimum of version 1465. The installation can be performed in the following way (for Debian based distributions)

apt-get install dvb-apps

After plugging in the USB sticks it is initialized by the Linux kernel in the following way:

usb 2-1: new high-speed USB device number 5 using ehci_hcd
dvb_as102: module is from the staging directory, the quality is unknown, you have been warned.
as10x_usb: device has been detected
DVB: registering new adapter (Elgato EyeTV DTT Deluxe)
DVB: registering adapter 0 frontend 0 (Elgato EyeTV DTT Deluxe)...
as10x_usb: fimrware: as102_data1_st.hex loaded with success
as10x_usb: fimrware: as102_data2_st.hex loaded with success
usbcore: registered new interface driver Abilis Systems as10x usb driver
